Empire Hotel

Nicely situated in the heart of Wan Chai and popular with midlevel business travelers for its convenience to Central and the convention center, this business hotel offers good value, with many of the same amenities, services, and facilities found at higher-priced hotels, including a rooftop outdoor swimming pool large enough for swimming laps. Narrow hallways, however, may prove a challenge to the claustrophobic, and rooms are so small that couples will fight over the lone luggage rack. None provide a view of the harbor from their bay windows. Still, they’re comfortable and pleasant enough, with duvet-covered beds and wall-mounted LCD TVs (leaving mercifully more desk space).
